There is no better place in Ecuador to see several amazing waterfalls than the 'Ruta de las Cascadas'. An easy 45 km drive from Puyo brings you to Pailon del Diablo, the tallest waterfall in the Ecuadorian Andes.
Located just 30 kilometers away from Puyo, the viewpoint offers a breathtaking view over the Amazon rain-forest and Río Pastaza.
As the name indicates, ‘Mirador’ is a lookout, situated on top of a hill.
Indichuris is the name of an indigenous community nearby that runs the attraction. The name means ‘Children of the Sun’.
Swing over the edge at the Mirador Indichuris. On a clear day, you could even see the Andes and some of its highest mountains like el Sangay, el Tungurahua, and el Altar in the distance!
It’s an easy and pretty drive to the Mirador and there is bus access available from Puyo for about $1.00.
At the top you will find a shelter with amazing views. You can while away some time in a hammock. There's a small bar with cold drinks and cerveza.

Swim in a breathtaking Amazonian waterfall! Stop by Hola Vida waterfall on your way to Indichuris Mirador from Puyo.
A pretty 20 to 30-minute walk through the lush Amazon rain-forest will take you to the 21-meter high waterfall with a lovely pool for swimming.
This will be a private tour where you can meet and interact with an authentic community of women potters and see them craft their traditional ware as they have done for centuries.
